Bard on the Beach: The Winter’s Tale

Until Sept. 23 | Vanier Park

Tickets and info: from $21,

Nothing kicks a story into motion like a seriously jealous king. In William Shakespeare’s The Winter’s Tale, when King Leontes decides his wife Queen Hermione has been unfaithful with his closest compadre, he pulls out all the stops to mete out punishment. The wheels he sets in motion come back to restore order and good in the world 16 years later. Set in ancient Greece and directed by Dean Paul Gibson, this is one of the less often performed works by the Bard.
